Sudhir Narang appointed managing director of BT India

Sudhir Narang appointed managing director of BT India


BT today announced the appointment of Sudhir Narang as managing director for the company’s Indian operations. Narang’s appointment is effective from December 20, 2007. In this position, Sudhir will lead BT Global Services’ strategy, growing BTs presence and spearheading services in India. He will report to Allen Ma, president, BT Asia Pacific and becomes a core member of the Asia Pacific regional executive team.

Mr. Narang has over 20 years’ experience in the Indian IT sector, with a strong grounding in all aspects of sales, business development, product support and customer service. He also brings with him exceptional leadership skills gained in a number of progressively senior positions with multinational corporations.

Allen Ma, president, BT Asia Pacific, said: “Coupled with our strategy to assist Indian multi-national companies (MNCs) and global MNCs seeking to benefit from India's status as a global hub, Sudhir’s appointment demonstrates BT’s ongoing commitment to meeting the challenges of our customers, whilst we enable them to create greater value from their business. Sudhir’s strong industry experience, along with his deep knowledge of Indian customers, will greatly assist our operations in India.”

Beginning his career at HCL Limited, Sudhir took up the position of general manager at HCL Comnect, the networking line of business for HCL. In 1998 He moved on to Cisco. There, he had worked with all the business verticals, i.e Enterprise, ITES, Public Sector and Service Provider. Sudhir was subsequently appointed Senior Vice President, India and SAARC, at Cisco Systems India Pvt Ltd, and most recently held the position of CEO of Tulip IT Services, a data telecom service provider and IT solutions company.

Speaking of his new role at BT India, Mr. Narang said, “With the recent acquisition of i2i Enterprises in early 2007, coupled with the constant growth of the longstanding Indian business operations, I believe BT is well positioned to become the leading networked IT solutions provider in the Indian marketplace.
