BT to expand professional services & consulting capabilities in Belgium

BT to expand professional services & consulting capabilities in Belgium

BT Benelux today announced growth ambitions for its Professional Services & Consulting organisation in Belgium, with an objective to grow the team to 150 people in the coming years. In Belgium, BT's Professional Services & Consulting capabilities cover IP technical design, programme and project management, consultancy, security and business continuity services, mobility, system management & administration and IT transformation & optimisation. BT Benelux will invest in recruiting and training IT experts to serve the increasing demands of its customers in those fields.

Michel De Coster, CEO BT Benelux: “We have a lot of knowledge and experience when it comes to managing complex IT projects, for example with the work we are doing with the ESA on the Galileo and Egnos project, NATO, the European Union and so on. With today’s announcement, this expertise becomes more readily available to customers, for them to either cover temporary - or more structural - staff shortages, or for example when they are looking for experts to work closely with their own IT team in designing a complex bespoke solution.”

Thirty percent of the employees to be hired will be IT graduates who will receive an extensive training program specifically targeted at networked IT services. Seventy percent are expected to come from IT related sectors, who also will receive extensive training before actually being commenced on projects.

In the Netherlands, the Benelux Professional Services organisation already serves major customers, such as ING Group, Orange, Europol, Fortis Bank and the Municipality of Amsterdam, with over 600 IT experts.
