CADBURY SCHWEPPES CONFIRMS DISCUSSIONS WITH DR PEPPER BOTTLING COMPANY IN THE US

Cadbury Schweppes plc today confirmed that it and The Carlyle Group are in discussions concerning the possible acquisition of the Dr Pepper Bottling Company of Texas (DPBCOT) and the combination of its business with The American Bottling Company in the US. These discussions include the management role Jim Turner, President and CEO of DPBCOT, will play in the combined business. These talks may or may not lead to agreement and further announcements will be made as appropriate.
