Dell Expands Service Relationship to Include DecisionOne and NCR

Dell Expands Service Relationship to Include DecisionOne and NCR

Relationships expand support options for customers in the United States Round Rock, Texas, November 30, 1998

Dell Computer Corporation (Nasdaq:DELL), the world's leading direct computer systems company, today expanded its Dell Service Provider program in the United States with the addition of DecisionOne Corporation (Nasdaq: DOCI) and NCR (NYSE: NCR). Under the agreement, DecisionOne and NCR will provide a variety of support services for the full line of Dell products. These services will include hardware maintenance and IMAC (installations, moves, adds, changes), and will be provided to Dell customers in a variety of limited warranty programs.

"Today's corporate enterprise computing customers demand quality, responsive and efficient service and support so they can maximize returns on their technology investments," said Gary J. Cotshott, Dell vice president, Customer Services for the Americas. "With a single call to Dell, our customers will continue to receive best-in-class service and support as we work with leaders like DecisionOne and NCR to bring the best value to our customers."

"This agreement is an evolution in our ongoing relationship with Dell," said Steve Felice, DecisionOne's president and CEO. "There is a natural fit between Dell's direct sales model and our independent, services-only model. Both companies share the same commitment to quality service and customer satisfaction. Under this agreement, Dell can now better leverage our enterprise computing and service expertise to enhance the overall customer experience by assuring consistent quality and support across the United States."

"NCR is dedicated to providing world-class service to Dell's customers. We are very proud of our relationship with Dell and this alliance further illustrates the growth and commitment of NCR's service solutions, especially in our targeted industries," said William Eisenman, senior vice president, NCR Worldwide Customer Services.

Dell will integrate these service partners into its virtual integration service model using both Internet and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) technologies. This closed loop communication with customers can speed resolution of service and help reduce costs while providing a safe, secure means to share technology advances and best practices.

With this agreement, DecisionOne and NCR join other leading service companies identified by Dell as service providers. In May, the company announced agreements with UNISYS Corporation and Wang Global as global service providers, and identified BancTec, Inc. as a service provider in the Americas.

Ranked No. 125 among the Fortune 500 companies and No. 363 in the Fortune Global 500, Dell Computer Corporation is the world's leading direct computer systems company, based on revenues of $16.8 billion for the past four quarters. Dell designs, manufactures and customizes products and services to customer requirements and offers an extensive selection of software and peripherals. Information on Dell, its products, and a complete listing of services can be obtained through its toll-free number 1-800-388-8542 or by accessing the Dell World Wide Web site at www.dell.com.
