Nestlé S.A. to Concentrate on Major Stock Exchanges

Press release Nestlé S.A. to Concentrate on Major Stock Exchanges

Vevey, November 30, 2000

Nestlé S.A. has decided to focus the listing of its shares on the key stock exchanges where its shares are presently traded. These include the Swiss Exchange, the London Stock Exchange and the bourses in Paris and Frankfurt. As a result of this decision, Nestlé shares will not be listed anymore in Amsterdam, Brussels, Tokyo and Vienna. The decision is warranted by the fact that the volume of Nestlé S.A. shares traded in Amsterdam, Brussels, Tokyo and Vienna is very small: at present, it amounts to less than one percent of the total number of Nestlé shares traded. The "American Depositary Receipts" program, based on Nestlé shares and sponsored by J.P. Morgan in the United States, is not affected by this decision.

Over the coming weeks, Nestlé S.A. will start the proceedings to delist its shares on the exchanges mentioned, according to the regulations in force in the respective markets. Nestlé will ensure that investors and shareholders in the Netherlands, in Belgium, in Japan and in Austria are fully informed about the procedures resulting from the implementation of its decision and is committed to limiting as far as possible the inconvenience to them.
