Procter & Gamble Announces Executive Change

CINCINNATI, Oct. 31, 2002 - The Procter & Gamble Company today announced Mark A. Collar, 49, currently vice president-global pharmaceuticals, has been named president-global pharmaceuticals effective immediately.

"Mark has played a major role in our pharmaceutical business reaching $1 billion in sales and achieving profitability, well ahead of our long range plan," said A.G. Lafley, P&G chairman, president and chief executive. "The successful combination of our marketing and innovation expertise with a focused, disciplined approach to drug development and discovery is a direct result of his leadership."
