Pampers(R) Kandoo(TM) Leapfrogs From the Bathroom to the Bathtub

Popular Kandoo Line Expands with New Shampoo and Body Wash

Helping Kids Make a Splash as They Become Master of the Bath

CINCINNATI, Dec. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Late last year Pampers revolutionized the way kids learn the Bathroom Basics -- Go! Wipe! Flush! Wash! Dry! -- when it introduced Kandoo Foaming Handsoap and flushable wipes in North America. Now Kandoo is adding a new line of foaming bath and shampoo products to help children master the bath!

Bath time becomes "I can do it myself" time for young kids with the new Pampers Kandoo Bath line, an innovative line of bath products specifically designed for young children to do it themselves. Pampers, a trusted name in baby and toddler care, is introducing the bathing system as a new addition to its already popular line of Kandoo personal care products. The new Kandoo bath line features two products -- 2-in-1 Instant Foam Shampoo and Foaming Body Wash -- that will begin shipping later this month in the U.S. Both products include kid-friendly designs that are fun and specially developed with little hands in mind, empowering children ages two to seven to easily learn to get clean all by themselves.

"Parents told us that they needed help beyond the potty training years, and that's why Kandoo has been so popular with parents and children. Now we're taking it one step further to help children learn that they 'can do it themselves' with our easy to use shampoo and body wash too," says Kirk Perry, North America Vice President and General Manager, Pampers Baby & Toddler Care, and father of four.

Made especially for small hands and fingers, Kandoo Foaming Body Wash and Instant Foam Shampoo have a broad base, and a wide and easy-to-use pump top that dispenses thick, instant foam, helping make it easy and fun for kids to wash their hair and bodies. The new bath line helps children to learn to clean themselves without having to hang onto slippery soap in the bathtub or battle with difficult-to-open shampoo bottles. In addition, the Instant Foam Shampoo, which is gentle and tear-free, produces a thick foam to help it avoid dripping or running, making it easy for kids to wash their hair. Both products are extra gentle, and available in three kid-appealing scents, including Magic Melon(TM), Jungle Fruits(TM) and new Funny Berry(TM).

The Kandoo frog, a favorite friendly helper in the bathroom, is featured on the packaging to help kids learn bathtub basics in a fun and engaging way. Through easy-to-understand graphics, the Kandoo frog shows that kids "can do" it on their own, by demonstrating the steps kids need to learn to master bath time.

Bath Time Partner

Through its ongoing dialogue with parents, Pampers has learned that shampooing and washing can be challenging for kids. Moms think that obstacles to a positive bath time experience include liquid shampoo getting in kids' eyes, liquid soap running out of kids' hands and slippery bar soap. As a result, bathing tasks are seen as something kids have to do, not something they want to do. The Pampers Kandoo line helps address these challenges and provides kids with a fun bath time experience.

"Growing children really want their independence, and are very eager to learn simple tasks such as washing themselves -- something they see their parents and older siblings doing by themselves," said Loraine Stern, M.D., a nationally known pediatrician and clinical professor of pediatrics at UCLA and a member of the Pampers Parenting Institute board. "Toddlers and kids, however, can have a challenge bathing themselves because most products are not designed for little hands and fingers. The proper tools could make learning a bit more fun and a little easier for kids to handle."

Fun New Scent

Parents also tell Pampers that scent is very important to their kids. In fact, according to recent Pampers focus groups, product scent is one of the top three 'needs' for kids. Pampers has recognized that need and, in response, is also now introducing Funny Berry, another fun new scent, for all its Kandoo products. To help make the bathroom experience even more fun, the new Kandoo bath line and the original Kandoo Flushable Wipes and Kandoo Foaming Hand Soap also will be available in a new appealing Funny Berry scent, in addition to the popular original Magic Melon and Jungle Fruits scents.

About Kandoo

Kandoo has already been available in Europe for more than two years to help kids become master of the bathroom. In both regions it has been a huge hit with kids and parents, and has received a number of awards for its innovation and packaging designs. The highly successful Kandoo product lineup includes:

New Kandoo 2-in-1 Instant Foam Shampoo (250 mL) in Magic Melon, Jungle Fruits and Funny Berry; New Kandoo Foaming Body Wash (250 mL) in Magic Melon, Jungle Fruits and Funny Berry; Kandoo Foaming Hand Soap (250 mL) in Magic Melon, Jungle Fruits and new Funny Berry; Kandoo Flushable Wipes Tubs (50 ct.) in Magic Melon, Jungle Fruits and new Funny Berry; and Kandoo Flushable Wipes Refill packages (50 ct. and 100 ct.) in Magic Melon, Jungle Fruits and new Funny Berry.

Kandoo products are available at most mass, discount, baby specialty and grocery stores where Pampers are sold, and can be found in the baby aisle. The new Kandoo Instant Foam Shampoo, Foaming Body Wash and new Funny Berry scented products will ship to stores in the U.S. beginning in late December 2005. The exclusive Kandoo Web site http://www.kidskandoo.com offers fun ways to empower kids and encourage parents with ways to help their children learn with the Kandoo frog.
