New Children's Pepto and Pro-Football Kicker David Akers Throw Special Holiday Celebration A Time for Family Fun, Excitement and Sharing at the Funplex Amusement Center
MOUNT LAUREL, N.J., Dec. 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Children's Pepto and
Philadelphia Eagles kicker, David Akers, know the most fun place for a holiday
celebration is at an amusement park!
All day today, Akers and Children's Pepto are throwing the annual
Christmas celebration, a private holiday party put on by David's charity
"Kicks For Kids", at South Jersey's "Funplex" Amusement Center.
Deserving kids and families from Akers' "Kicks For Kids" program will
enjoy all the park has to offer, all day long. The day is accented by enjoying
the Funplex rides, video arcades, adventure golf and so much more. As the
families gather, a gift exchange will take place, thanks to donations from
Children's Pepto. As a memento of the celebration, Akers is taking pictures
with the kids and providing autographed memorabilia.
The Funplex holiday celebration is an event funded by "Kick In For Kids,"
a program from Children's Pepto that contributes money to David's charity,
Kicks For Kids. From Halloween through New Year's Day, Children's Pepto, made
by The Procter & Gamble Company (NYSE: PG), is donating money to Kicks for
Kids, for every point that Akers scores.
"Every child deserves to have a wonderful holiday season," said Mauricio
Troncoso, P&G Marketing Director. "When Akers asked for donations for gifts,
we were proud to participate."
"Seeing a child's face light up during the holiday season is worth so
much," said Akers. "I feel that spending time together at this celebration is
important. The holidays are family time. This is my extended family."
"Kick In For Kids" is a program designed to help children and families in
need during the holiday season. It's a familiar theme: a good cause, NFL
football players, and Pepto. They just seem to work well together. In October
2004, money was donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation based on the
performance of Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Johnson and the sales of
Cherry Pepto-Bismol liquid. Once again, the partnership of Pepto and Pro-
Football Players help to benefit charitable causes for people across America.
