Great Theatre on Great Wheels Mark Levinson* Concept System

Mark Levinson® audio, the world's most elite and prestigious acoustic brand, is proud to announce completion of a groundbreaking premium in-vehicle entertainment system for the Lexus IS 430 Project Car.

In keeping with it's goal of expanding the IS300 performance envelope, Lexus asked Mark Levinson engineers to create a next-generation system for their IS 430 Project Car. The stunning result is a complete integration of audio and video, with sonic performance parameters beyond what had been previously achieved in an OEM system.

"The goal of each and every Mark Levinson system for Lexus is to recreate the emotional response evoked by the original musical or cinematic event. This system demonstrates what is possible, both in terms of performance and direction, when art and science are dedicated to producing a rich entertainment experience within a Lexus passenger cabin," said Phil Muzio, President of Mark Levinson.

There were three goals for the Mark Levinson IS 430 entertainment system:
1. The complete system integration of audio and video
2. The introduction of a discrete multi-channel 7.1 surround sound experience suitable for music, music videos and movies in an automobile passenger cabin
3. The advancement of particular sonic performance parameters beyond previous achievements in premium OEM entertainment systems

To address the goals established for the IS 430 entertainment system, the Mark Levinson systems engineers designed and installed a 20 speaker/24 channel, 720 watt* audio/video system utilizing their own Harman Becker DVD Video player and Video Display.

This prototype Mark Levinson Premium Multichannel sound system features:
* A 7.1-channel surround sound architecture with a timbral matched topology
* Each channel fully bi or tri-amplified, eliminating all passive crossover components
* Proprietary metal cone transducers (except for the sub woofers)
* Bridged channels for the front door woofers and the stereo sub woofers
* Full digital transmission from the source to the discrete topology power amplifiers
* 5.1 Dolby Digital and DTS decoding
* A proprietary Mark Levinson Surround algorithm, which optimizes two-channel and multi-channel sources for reproduction in the passenger cabin

The final voicing of this system was accomplished in the laboratory and on the road using the human ear in conjunction with a proprietary Mark Levinson DSP software application tool.

Mark Levinson has a distinguished reputation for flawless reproductions of the full spectrum of sound. Mark Levinson is part of the Harman International portfolio of acclaimed audio brands, which also include JBL, Harman Kardon and Infinity.
