Lexus will ring in 2003 with an array
of benefits for journalists and consumers at the North American International
Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit this January - all designed to inform, refresh
and entertain.
Luxuries That Energize
In a move to reduce the sheer weight of product information, Lexus will provide
a "beaming station" at its display area in Cobo Hall where show visitors
with a Palm handheld can download customized versions of the latest Lexus
product brochures, and journalists can receive press releases - all via infrared
communication.
First introduced at the Miami Auto Show last November, this convenient solution
to bulky and expensive paper brochures was developed specifically for Lexus
by Palm Solution Providers Single Tap and Bluefish Wireless in conjunction with
Team One Advertising.
When it comes time to relax and reenergize, journalists can pull up a comfortable
chair at the Lexus Luxury Lounge. Refreshments, soothing neck and shoulder massages
from professional massage therapists, and incredible audio sounds courtesy of
Mark Levinson sound systems, will all be available at the Lexus display area.
The Lexus Luxury Lounge will be open to journalists Sunday, January 5, from
12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Monday, January 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Maximum Benefit
The annual NAIAS Black-tie Charity Invitational on Friday, January 10, is a
major event that brings in millions of dollars for Detroit area children. The
Lexus booth at this year's affair will once again offer delicious food and drinks
stirred by the superlative music of local blues artist Jim McCarty and his band,
Mystery Train. The show will be webcast live for all to see on www.lexus.com
from 7:00 p.m. EST, and simulcast on WCSX-FM 94.7 throughout southeastern Michigan
starting at 7:30 p.m. EST.
Peter Frampton Live In Motown
Although the cars are always the stars at Lexus, downtown Motown will reverberate
with the sounds of legendary rocker Peter Frampton live at the intimate, 450-seat
GEM theatre on Monday evening, January 6, at 7:30 p.m. EST. Lexus is offering
the special concert to local, national and international automotive journalists
attending the auto show during press week. Tickets are available on a first-come,
first-serve basis by contacting Ken Thomas at Lexus: 310-468-3264.
The exclusive concert promises to be a most unique and intense musical experience,
but those who can't be there in person can still get a "front-row seat"
if they log-on to www.lexus.com where the show will be webcast live in streaming
video.
In fact all of the Lexus activities at the show will be webcast live. The Lexus
NAIAS webcast will be available 24/7 during the show starting on Sunday, January
5, at 11:00 a.m. EST and continuing to the end of the show on Monday January
20.
