Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), U.S.A., Inc.
today announced the below organizational changes and promotions, effective immediately:
Steve Sturm, vice president, marketing, is named vice president & general
manager of Toyota Logistics Services (TLS). Sturm replaces Jim Byers who is
retiring at the end of the year. He will continue to report to Don Esmond, senior
vice president and general manager of the Toyota Division. Sturm will be responsible
for all TLS operations in the United States, which includes the processing and
accessorization of new Toyota and Lexus vehicles and their delivery to dealerships,
the export of North American-produced vehicles to overseas destinations, and
logistics operations.
Jim Lentz, vice president, Scion, is appointed vice president, marketing, for
the Toyota Division, replacing Steve Sturm. Lentz will be responsible for the
Toyota Division's market planning, advertising, merchandising, sales promotion,
incentives and Internet activities. In addition to his new role, Lentz will
retain overall responsibility for Scion and will continue to report to Don Esmond.
Jim Farley, corporate manager, Scion, is promoted to vice president, Scion.
Farley will be responsible for the launch of Scion, a new line of vehicles for
the trend setting younger buyer, and the first new brand by Toyota since the
debut of Lexus in 1989. He will continue to report to Jim Lentz.
