"Youth-Thinks-Future": Vodafone supports a school project with practical insights

Invitation to apress conference on 22.6.2006 at 11.30 a.m., Seestern 1, 40547 Düsseldorf, ground floor, A03

Düsseldorf, 16 June 2006. What kind of mobile communications services will we be using in the future? 25 schoolkids at the Comenius High School in Düsseldorf and Vodafone will be looking for some answers to this question starting today. The 25 eleventh graders will spend an entire week investigating innovative ideas for modern mobile phones. Vodafone is offering its support by providing lectures, giving them the opportunity to talk to marketing department managers and providing insights into the technology so that they can develop their own ideas for future mobile phone applications.

In the week 16 to 22 June, the 25 schoolchildren will be working in groups to design potential new future applications, and they will be presenting their ideas at the end of the week on 22 June. We cordially invite you to attend the press conference with the schoolchildren and organisers on 22 June at 11.30 a.m. in the Vodafone headquarters at Seestern 1, 40547 Düsseldorf, ground floor, room A03.

The project week was initiated by Youth-Thinks-Future (Jugend-denkt-Zukunft) a cooperation between the education and business communities. The project is called "Innovation Game" and it offers schoolchildren aged 15-17 the opportunity to develop forward-looking products and services with direct support from the business enterprises. Youth-Thinks-Future is not just promoting an innovation culture in Germany, it is also offering young people the opportunity to discover the significance of innovation, research and strategic planning.
