Yahoo! Welcomes Smarterkids.com As A Premier Merchant

Santa Clara, Calif. -- Dec. 27, 1999 -- Yahoo! Inc. (Nasdaq: YHOO), a leading global Internet media company serving 105 million users, today announced that SmarterKids.com Inc. (Nasdaq: SKDS), a leading educational store on the Web, has joined its premier merchant program. The two companies are teaming up to introduce Yahoo!'s large user base to the award-winning content and e-commerce opportunities available on the SmarterKids.com Web site (www.smarterkids.com). With its thousands of quality educational books, software, games, hands-on activities, and services from hundreds of manufacturers, SmarterKids.com is aimed at helping parents take an active role in their child's education.

As a premier merchant on Yahoo!, SmarterKids.com will have fixed button placement in toy and children's educational product-related categories throughout the Yahoo!® network of properties (www.yahoo.com). Additionally, SmarterKids.com will run banner advertisements on various pages within certain properties on Yahoo! including Yahoo! Shopping (http://shopping.yahoo.com), Yahoo! Yellow Pages (http://yp.yahoo.com), and Yahooligans! (http://www.yahooligans.com), the award-winning Web guide for children ages 7-12. SmarterKids.com also has secured placement on select toy and educational keyword search results pages. In addition, SmarterKids.com will participate in Yahoo! front page promotions.
